About

I’m Xander. I build things, think about systems, and write to keep my head clear.

Professionally, I work in the energy transition. I have a background in software engineering and now spend most of my time shaping products, teams, and direction around EV charging, home energy management, and infrastructure-heavy systems. I believe this transition needs to happen — and that it’s harder and messier than it often looks from the outside.

Outside of work, I’m a dad. I read a lot. I train regularly and like having something physical to work towards — currently a (1/8) triathlon. These things matter to me because they keep me grounded and honest about limits, trade-offs, and attention.

Most of the problems I’m interested in aren’t purely technical. They sit somewhere between technology, organisations, incentives, and human behaviour. That’s true at work, but also in life.

This Site

This site is my personal writing space. Everything I publish on LinkedIn also lives here, alongside longer pieces and notes that don’t really fit a feed.

You’ll find writing about energy systems and software, but also about books, focus, training, fatherhood, and figuring out how to do meaningful work without burning out or drifting.

I write primarily to think clearly and leave a trail I can come back to later.
